VM Creation

Launching an E2E Networks Virtual Compute Node

Introduction

  • Create an E2E MyAccount on the E2E Networks sign-up page to access node creation features.

  • Use the MyAccount portal for a web-based interface to manage virtual compute nodes.

  • Generate an API token in MyAccount for programmatic node management via E2E Networks APIs.

Logging In

  • Log in to MyAccount using credentials which were set during account creation and activation.

Navigating to Node Creation

  • Click the “Nodes” sub-menu under the Compute section on the MyAccount dashboard.

  • Alternatively, select the “Nodes” header directly from the dashboard.

  • Click “Add New Node” on the Manage Nodes page to access the Create Node page.

Choosing an Operating System and Plan

  • Select an operating system (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, Windows Server) for the node.

  • Choose the specific OS version from the available options.

  • Click “Select Plan” to view node image categories and plans.

  • Pick from Linux Virtual Nodes (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, cPanel, Plesk, Webuzo) with subcategories:

    • CPU Intensive Cloud (C3 series) for high-performance, high-IOPS workloads.

    • High Memory Cloud (3rd Gen) for double vCPUs and triple RAM at cost-effective pricing.

    • CPU Intensive Cloud 3rd Gen for high-availability, high-performance instances.

    • High Memory Cloud 3rd Gen for high-availability, high-memory workloads.

  • Select Windows Virtual Nodes with Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016.

  • Choose Linux Smart Dedicated Nodes (CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat, AlmaLinux, etc) with subcategories:

    • High-Frequency Cloud for superior performance.

    • Large CPU for compute-heavy tasks.

    • High-Frequency Double Disk for increased storage.

  • Opt for Windows Smart Dedicated Nodes with Windows Server 2022, 2019, 2016.

  • Click “Next” after selecting the node image and plan.

Selecting Billing Mode

  • Choose “Hourly Billed” for flexible, pay-as-you-go usage.

  • Alternatively, select “365 days committed” for up to 50% cost savings.

  • Proceed to the Network Settings & Security step after selecting the billing mode.

Configuring Network Settings and Security

  • Select a security group from the dropdown, with the default group applied if unchanged.

  • Attach a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) by checking the VPC box and selecting a VPC.

  • Add SSH keys for secure Linux node access; SSH keys are not applicable for Windows nodes.

  • Disable password-based SSH for Linux nodes to enforce key-based authentication.

  • Enable a one-time password, sent via email, requiring a new password after first login.

  • Reserve a public IP by checking “Reserve IP” and selecting an IP; for multiple nodes, attach IPs individually post-launch(Optional).

  • Enable BitNinja for enhanced security against threats.

  • Click “Next” to proceed to the Backup & Storage step.

Setting Up Backup and Storage

  • Enable automatic backups by checking the “Enable Backup” box; backups are unavailable for OpenSUSE nodes.(Paid services)

  • Attach a volume by selecting from the dropdown or clicking “+” to create a new volume.

  • Note that for multiple nodes, volumes must be attached individually after launch.

  • Click “Launch Node” to initiate node creation.

Post-Creation Tasks

  • Wait a few minutes for the node to set up, then get redirected to the Manage Nodes page.

  • Receive a notification email with node login credentials for access.

  • Manage the node (e.g., start, stop, reboot, power off) from the Manage Nodes page.

  • Create a node image to replicate configurations or upgrade to higher plans.

  • After creating your node, we will send you an email with a secure password retrieval link. To obtain your password, simply click the provided link. This link will expire in 7 days.
