How to create & manage your Virtual Compute Node Image?

Virtual Compute Node Image

A Virtual Compute Node Image is a template to create new instances. You can create your own images from running instances with an operating system along with the software and patches installed on them such as databases, applications, etc. The image can be used to create multiple virtual machines which are easy to setup with a predefined template.

STEP 1 - Create Image

Power Off
To save an image of a Virtual Compute Node it must be powered down. Click on the Power Off button.
Save Image
Once the respective Virtual Compute Node is powered down click on the ‘Save Image’ button under the Actions section. Create a name of your Virtual Compute Node image and click on Save Image button. A message will appear “Your image is being saved and may take a while. In case of any problems, please contact cloud-platform@e2enetworks.com”. Under the state section, the active state will change to  “Saving”. Note: All the management operations will be disabled on this node while the image is being saved.

STEP 2 - Manage Image

To access the saved image click on ‘Saved Images’  on the dashboard.
Launch Image
To launch the node from saved images click on the + button that is the ‘Launch Node’ button.   In the next window, you can choose the available images.
Rename Image
To rename your existing image click on the ‘Edit Name’ button. Assign a new name to the existing image and click on ‘Update Image’ button.
Delete Image
To remove an existing image click on the ‘Delete’ button. A confirmation message will appear, click on the ‘Delete Image‘ button to confirm the deletion.Once the image is deleted a message will appear “Image deleted successfully”
