Creating server disk image backup

Creating server disk image backup

Creating a server template can prove to be an important feature to have and therefore we provide you with this option with a seamless interface using which you can create a template of your server with just one-click operation. Let's look at a couple of scenarios which would require you to use this feature. Scenario 1: Since the diskspace, RAM ,CPU and IP address for each VPS is reserved irrespective of its current status (whether ON or OFF), each server is billed in powered off state as well. If you are the sort of user who requires an active server only occasionally and does not want to get billed 24*7, then you can create a disk template of your server on our protal (one.e2enetworks.com) following which you can delete the existing server. When you need an active server again, you can fire one up using the template that was created before. Since saved templates are billed only for the disk space used (at Rs. 6.25 per GB per month), you will save on the duration you don't need an active server. [ht_message mstyle="alert" title="" " show_icon="" id="" class="" style="" ] Please note that, on deleting a server you are discarding the IP address along with. The next time you fire a server, it will bear a different IP address than the previous one.[/ht_message] Scenario 2: When you need to test new features on your server but are worried that the data on it would be compromised, you can create an image of your live server. This will provide you a safe environment to test them out without bothering the existing server.
